Free Books for you

After July there is to be a re-structuring of the representatives roles/areas.

The upshot of this is that we will have to do something with the store of this year and last year’s sample books which have been filling up our offices/garages. We could put them in landfill, but we’ve had a better idea.

As an inducement to having a book display in your school before the end of term, we will be giving you some free books from our store.

If as a result of this you put in some kind of order, you will get a lot more free books.

When they’ve gone, they’ve gone as they say. Don’t leave it too late in the term to arrange a book display in your school. You are not obliged to buy any books as a result of this display – this is as usual. What’s different for the next two months is that you will get free book/s for inviting us in, and even more if you make a purchase.

Sheffield Book award shortlist -Put out the light

We are thrilled to announce that the following book from your publishing house have been shortlisted for the Sheffield Children’s Book Award project 2011.

Last year over 5,000 local children took part in the Book Award project making us one of the largest Local Authority award schemes in the country. Many of the children who read and voted for their favourite books attended our award ceremony in November at the Sheffield City Hall which was also attended by 15 of the shortlisted authors and illustrators. Representatives from all the publishing houses were also present to hear the results announced .

Schools have already registered to take part this year and are eager to begin reading and voting for their favourite books. The shortlist is divided into 4 categories and children must read all books within their chosen category to be eligible to vote. Children will read the books during the Spring/Summer and the all important votes are collated during the summer holidays. The results will be announced at our special award ceremony which will be held in November in Sheffield. Further details of this event will follow later in the year.
